  • I will not disrespect in any way my fellow players, coaches or the fans of my team. I will also not disrespect the players, coaches and fans of my opponent's team.
  • I will place sportsmanship ahead of my emotions. I will be a "good-sport" and I'll applaud the great play of my opponent.
  • I will understand that my coach is the person responsible for my playing time. I will understand the philosophy of the program and will work hard to improve in practices and earn playing time in games.

Code of conduct- Parents

  • I am expected to be a positive role model and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at every game.
  • I will support my child in a positive manner. I will show support and interest in the team, show good sportsmanship at all times to coaches, referees, opponents and teammates.
  • I will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player or parent such as berating, taunting, refusing to shake hands, verbal or physical threats, or using profane language or gestures.
  • I will  be mindful not to impose my own standards and objectives, let my child play and let the coach "coach". I will support the team but i will not interfere with the responsibilities of the coaches of my child. I understand that i am my child's parent, not his Basketball coach.
  • The most important aspect of my child's youth basketball experience if for him to have fun while developing technical, physical and emotional skills that will serve him in life. I will avoid placing and exaggerated emphasis on winning.
  • I will promote the emotional and physical well-being of all the athletes ahead of any personal desire i may have for junior bison boys teams to win.
  • I will respect the officials and their authority during games and will never confront officials/coaches at the game. I will communicate my concerns to the KWCC  basketball executives and/or, i will take the time to speak with coaches privately at an agreed upon time and place if i have an issue or concern. This will occur not at the end of a game but within 48 hours of the end of the games (48 hour rule).
  • I am expected to pay the club fees on time to ensure the participation of my child. I am responsible for communicating with the coaches during the entire season to help the team and my child.
  • I must report to the coaches all injuries, special medical conditions or extenuating circumstances. I will provide a written note from a physician after an injury when my child is cleared to return to play. I will follow the medical advice and prevent my child to get injured again.
  • Media release: I authorize the club organizers to use teams and players pictures on the internet via social media to promote the KWCC Community Club.

I have read and understand the above statements and agree to conduct myself in a manner that demonstrates the standards established by the KWCC Community Club.

Code of conduct- Coaches

  • Coaches will treat everyone fairly within the context of their activity, regardless of gender, place of origin, religion, political value or economic status. Coaches will ensure that the activity being undertaken is suitable for the age, ability and fitness level of the athletes.
  • Coaches have the responsibility to direct comments or criticism at the performance rather than the athlete. Always ensure that the time kids spend with you as coach is a positive experience.
  • Coaches will display high personal standards and project a favorable image of their sport and of coaching.
  • Coaches will treat opponents and officials with the due respect and encourage athletes to act accordingly. Never argue with a sports official. If a disagreement cannot be resolved quickly, move on with coaching your team.
  • Coaches will never use negative or ridicule comments and will avoid sarcasm in communicating with players from opposing teams, officials or parents. Any physical contact with a child should be appropriate to the situation and necessary for the player's skill development or medical care..Coaches will ensure a safe environment for the athletes they work with, free of drugs and alcohol where harassment of any kind is not tolerated. Display control, respect and professionalism to all involved within the sport. This includes opponents, coaches, officials, administrators, the media, parents and other spectators. Encourage players to do the same, be a great role model.
  • Coaches will never stop teaching the athletes, on and off the game, providing expertise in the of the sport but also promoting life-time values such as commitment, respect, camaraderie and leadership. Coaches will place the long-term development of their athletes above all.
  • Always remember that kids participate for pleasure, enjoyment and winning is only part of the fun. Coaches understand that winning is NOT the only goal of a youth development program.
  • Always show concern toward sick and injured players. Follow the advice of a physician when determining whether an injured child is ready to train and compete. Coaches must ask for a written medical note that clears the player for "return to play".
  • Coaches will regularly seek ways for increasing professional development and self-awareness.

I have read and understand the above statements and agree to conduct myself in a manner that demonstrates the standards established by the KWCC Community Club.
